Michael, here in the Northeast we have very effective pro-segregation laws. It is called economic segregation by means of financially discriminatory local zoning laws. These laws are very effective at keeping out Blacks, Hispanics, Native Americans and white trash. One of these towns requires that anyone who wishes to build a home there must purchase a minimum of four acres of land and build a house having at least 3,000 square feet of living space. Condos, apartments, duplexes, etc. are strictly forbidden. Needless to say, this town is 100% white and no one drives a Ford. The nearest city is only thirteen miles away and the schools are 94% black. Jim

to:Michael D. Cummings from:truedog OK! So I should have said same geographical location instead of quarters. This cannot equate to racial segregation as they are all the same race. It is a different life-style issue and is not really the norm in present day Native American locations.Look at Oklahoma for example. More tribes than I can name live there in close proximity with no problems between them and, some of the tribes were once enemies. You are always welcome to join in but this really does not belong on the Kosova thread. Anyone wanting to get their feet wet should visit the thread about tribe whose name starts with an H. I forget the spelling but it is a current thread just below this on on the list. truedog
