Glenn, Isn't this the weekend you were available for Tim's Sleepover Don't DisPAIR party? ********* ALAMEDA, Calif., May 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Ascend Communications (Nasdaq: ASND - news) and Lucent Technologies (NYSE: LU - news) today announced a special meeting for Ascend shareowners to vote on the company's proposed merger with Lucent. The meeting will be held at The Ritz-Carlton at 600 Stockton Street in San Francisco on June 24, 1999, at 9:00 a.m. (PDT). Ascend shareowners of record as of April 27, 1999 will be entitled to vote at the special meeting. Under terms of the merger agreement, Ascend shareowners will receive 1.65 shares of Lucent common stock in the merger for each share of Ascend common stock.
