OT: Vendit, Doesn't the House bill you cited yesterday -- along with the previously passed Senate version -- allow transmission of local stations, with the mandate that if any are carried, ALL local stations must be carried ?

Is your letter a current and temporary resolution of prior pending lawsuits that would be superseded by the new Congressional law and FTC ruling ?

If that's not the case, I guess I just didn't understand the 'local programming' issue.

Clarification appreciated.

George

Vendit...fire off some enraged mail to all you elected officials in DC......think this issue just cleared the house, not officially resolved. So it ain't over yet. In the meantime, you can blame the cable industry, their lobby, and the officials who passed the original bill for you inconveniece.
BTW Circuit City has an attachment to your satellite dish that will pull in some if not all of those local channels. I live in the mountains and NBC's signal 60 miles away won't penetrate the granite interiors of the mountains. But ABC, PBS and CBS does come in. $84.00
