Make that in retail only. The computer marketplace is a big, wide market. AMD is not recognized whatsoever in the workstation or server markets. Corporate PCs? I strongly doubt it there too.

What are AMD's 64 bit plans? Any? It sounds like they won't be a threat to Intel in the SMP server market, with the K7, that is, IF it flies better than any AMD CPU to date, 'til next year. Then you get Merced in your lap. Oof.

Did you ever wonder why AMD has to sell their CHEAPus way below Intel's Bottom line prices ?

Yes...you did wonder.

It's the POOR reputation AMD has - for late delivery, poor yields, and an inability to get competitive products into production.

Not to mention their continual LOSSES !
