When you get a "free" cell phone for opening a new account you have to sign a one or two year contract for cell phone service. The longer the contract, the better the phone. If you break the contract, you get a bill for the retail cost of the phone plus a penalty. They probably do the same thing with these "free" computers.
I looked into a couple of these deals and a computer novice might go for it, but anyone with any experience would find the performance level of the "free" computer unacceptable. BY the time you "upgrade" your "free" computer to something that is actually functional. you'd be better off to buy a DELL.
