If the delayed quotes/no ads vs. real-time quotes/banner ads controversy is still going on, I'll vote for delayed quotes/no ads any day. It's not real hard, if you follow several stock threads, to be reading 100 or 200 postings a day. Think of what that means in terms of added time just to download a banner ad for each posting. Fewer and fewer people will tolerate that for long and then the value of SI to investors spirals toward zero. Please, SI, avoid the banner ads at all cost. Real-time quotes aren't that important. We can find them at other sites. What we can't find elsewhere are good SI postings. Don't compromise efficiency and the effectiveness of your one unique product.
