Re: a European skull

James...I'm not sure what distinguishes a European skull from any other and really don't particularly care but, let me get this straight. Are we talking about a skull? Only one singular odd skull?
Couldn't there be some other explanation? Maybe a quirk of fate, an anomaly in nature? I don't see any reason for the NA's to worry.

You, and others, keep mentioning the ancient ancestors as being European, Polynesian and Asian. I guess I am behind the times but, some time ago, I read about the finding of ancient relics in the area of the eastern side of what was once the Bering land bridge. It seemed that the conclusion of those that made the studies, that the ancestors of NAs were primative Mongolian nomads. Maybe other evidence has been uncovered. If so, I hope it is physical evidence and not some academic theory espoused by some prof who wants to write a book.

Dear Mr. Barrett,

The point I was trying to make about the Native Americans being very
upset with the discovery of a 15,000 year old "European" skull in North
Carolina is the fear of losing their "original inhabitant" status. If
the Europeans were here 15,000 years ago the Native Americans would no
longer be able to claim that the white Europeans "stole their land". If
todays Native Americans are descendants of ancient Europeans,
Polynesians and Asians then their reservation status of "Soverign
Nation" should be dissolved and their lands should revert back to the
Federal Government. They will then become ordinary citizens like the
rest of us.

Who knows, maybe the owner of that skull left a pregnant girl behind in
Germany who might be your ancient grandmother, which makes you a Native
American.

I think I understand your point perfectly. You are attempting to use simplistic, and therefore inherently inaccurate, ideas about the past for the purposes of racial politics. IMO your reasoning is faulty and your goal is deplorable.
