Good for you Cheryl, my wife graduated MS Nursing yesterday, our plan is to move into the country, not much time but we are looking at places with orchards already established!

Cheryl,

I'll bet that Steve Kroft story on 60 Minutes provided some pretty good punctuation for your party this evening!

It was excellent, unlike his other Y2K story last fall which was limp and a letdown as far as candor was concerned.

I too was at a Rites/Wrongs of Spring party in Cashiers, NC this afternoon and had a good look at a solar array being assembled and enjoyed some good discussions on Y2K preparedness.

You are really growing flowers, sounds like you must have inherited quite a garden in your new location. We moved to NC from California last fall to lose the population crush and attain a little independence. My wife and I had hoped to plant and grow an extensive vegetable garden for canning this summer. We are having a little problem with clay soil, too many bugs and no compost. But we'll get there.

I wanted to thank you for your unrelenting attention to the Y2K problem over the past year and how many months? You are providing an excellent service in a very evenhanded way. I guess that too was my reaction to the 60 Minutes piece this evening: poignant and evenhanded.

Cheryl,

Wish I had decided to catch up on this thread earlier.

Believe it or not, I had the opportunity to "press the flesh" with Mike Wallace last night at a DC hotel.

He apparently was just finishing up a meeting or something and was stopped by a couple sitting next to me who decided to "inflict themselves" on his presence.

So since I was right next to them, I wasn't going to let him get away without shaking his hand. I could've broached the topic with him instead of listening to the rambling comments from the adjacent table... <VBG>

Alas....

Regards,

Ron
