Hey Ze'ev!!

It's fun to speculate -- let's speculate as to what broadcaster is aching to convert its spectrum to serve (Will's assumed) "1%" of "Yahoo's" at the cost of 99% of it's current yahoos?

Someone has to broadcast the digital stream, or nothing flies.

An over-air network devoting space to service HAUP (and its competitors') boards is unlikely for some time,,, for reasons that include meager penetration at best, self-cannibalization, and more.

That leaves foreseeable only the scenario of a satellite broadcaster devoting a fractional piece of multiplexed time from its already digitized channel.

A start, but then Will's potential revenue projections must be adjusted down, 'way down:

* from Will's assumed "1% of Yahoos" who spend "$300" for WinTV-D

* divided by co-incidence of those "(assumed) 1% of Yahoos"
owning DBS satellite television systems

(what % penetration are we down to?)

* this divided once again by those who care enough to set up a
Wave Systems pay-per-listen and to "pay by the hit" for PPOV/PPL.

* divided once again by that % that care for (assumed) Broadcast.com
streaming programming...

Not much coincidence between Yahoo fans AND satellite dishes AND Wave accounts AND HAUP boards --- and those aching to pay for programming :))

Mark Cuban's words must be taken tongue in cheek, as self-serving as they are. <G> There's a huge difference between aggregating a digital archive and successfully competing for people's attention. Every distributed network rightfully (but lightfully) quotes its "potential" audience as the number of souls with cable,,, Ugly George included,,, but few hit the numbers.

PS- Zeev, I know you don't know rock n roll, but Will said it: rock n' roll. I'm sure Will will recognize the song Bob Geldorf wrote about Mondays:

"I'm gonna shoot, shoot, shoot --- the whole day long."

That tune, *also,* was about Texas.
The lead character did not get to shoot a second day.

:)

Anyway, good luck Will, and longs and shorts,,, it's gonna be a Monday!

.k

OH, then you are correct. But I'd be very happy with a company that is growing sales 100% per year and earnings at an even greater pace. Not too shabby.
