LindyBill, This trial could drag out until October if we get to a remedy phase-----it may be a long affair.
However, my feeling is that we will see a settlement at one of these 3 phases:
-just before a establishment of facts by Judge Jackson
-just afterwards
-before a remedy phase if applicable.

My hunch is that MSFT will want this out of the way before Windows2000 release. Even though the product is unrelated to the case, MSFT would not want the release to be clouded by the trial. It is expected to be a Windows95 type of affair.
Therefore October calls (but wait--October is the usual crash month).
January 2000----Maybe but Y2K uncertainty.
January 2001---safe bet

I am waiting for trading on August calls. Once we start getting some leaks on possible settlements, i would buy fast.

I am still planning on buying for July earnings run-up---July calls (or August if available)

Best of Luck

BTW--I don't think you can go wrong with the shares if you are considering that "option".
