OT - minidisc vs. MP3 players

Minidisc by far. I have a sony MDR-55 and i love that thing. I am currently recording MP3's off my computer using the MD player. I plan to purchase the new Panasonic with 40 hours playback (with optional battery pack) the player is about the size of minidisc.

also, MD media costs 5 bucks a pop for 74 minutes. Flash memory for MP3 players cost more than 50 bucks for 60 minutes.

go to www.minidisc.org for more information regarding minidiscs in general. They have reviews and info on every minidisc player available. The ones in the JDM (japanese domestic market) are much better than the ones available in the US. Fortunately minidisc.org includes links to vendors who are willing to sell them to you for a nominal surcharge.

OT -- PCs, DRAM, and SemiCaps

Here is the latest article I posted in AMAT thread. To summarize, there are those who think that the ASPs of electronics is always falling and that companies can continue to flourish under such conditions. This is a fallacy on both counts. The price per unit has been falling only recently and for a good part of the 80s it was actually rising. For a full discussion, you have to go back 10~20 posts. Message 9822037
