Lucius, Windows 2000 Terminal Services is ready for the Street. I have not spent enormous effort trying to find problems with the product but I am happy with it. I primarily use RDP over a 28.8 modem. It is tolerable - not as good as ICA though. I've been using the client with a window size of 1280x1024.

There seems to be some collective fear on this thread that Windows 2000 is a threat to Citrix. Quite the contrary - Windows 2000 is our ticket to ride! This is where Windows Terminal Services goes mainstream.

MIcrosoft cannot produce a competing product in the short term. Microsoft is too focused on bigger fish right now. It is easier to collaborate with Citrix than compete with them. There is no way Windows 2000 out of the box is gonna threaten Metaframe.

Check out thinplanet.com for much more information.

BTW: Here are the flavors of Windows 2000:

Windows 2000 Professional (formerly known as: Windows NT Workstation)
Windows 2000 Server (formerly known as Windows NT Server)
Windows 2000 Advanced Server (formerly known as Windows NT Enterprise)
Windows 2000 Data Center Server (new SKU)

I don't think that Windows 2000 Professional will contain Terminal Services. I belive the rest will.
