So would your g-g-grandma be Mohawk or Huron? Did she come from near Montreal or near the border w/ New York?

Re: Iriquois blood

Just to set the record straight, there really is no such thing as Iriquois blood. Iriquois is the name of the federation of five tribes, Oneida,Onandaga,Cayuga,Mohawk and Seneca. These tribes were eventually joined by the Erie and the Tuscarora.

I know some of the Iriquoian tribes were forced to move west.I knew several Oneidas in Minn. and, from what I saw on 60 Minutes this evening there are still quite a few left in New York. Many of the Seneca and Mohawks work the high steel in NYC.

I guess some of the people of the tribes settled in Quebec but, I was under the impression this was Huron country.
