His reasoning is somewhat muddled or he simply read my post with his eyes closed. What sense would it make for anyone to short a takeover target?. Since am short at $30 + price range and he predicts a takeover price of $50.00, it will be dumb for the SEC or anyone for that matter to insinuate ulterior motives because I will be several points above my short price. By definition, a short seller hopes the underlaying security declines in value. By shorting the stock, I am simply implying that I don't believe the company will be taken over and the company is not worth the stock price. But, I or anyone else for that matter will be naive to throw caution in the wind when dealing with Internut companies. Considering that COX communications just poured millions into the company last week, Healthon also an Atlanta company just merged with WebMD, Infocure and Medaphis all Atlanta companies are said to be interested in this company, something got to be brewing. To add fuel to the speculation, ADAM provides content for these companies. It is therefore safe to assume that with the inflated market cap of Healthon, Cox being the #3 cable provider in the country and cash flush, either one can afford to write a check for this little company. So, the rumor may be right.
So let him worry about the SEC over what in my opinion is common sense and has already been published by a major network. I will carefully watch this company considering these facts and hedge my bets in the most profitable way. The Flames of speculation concerning this company have been lit, just don't get burned.
