Oh, dear. What I meant, Ish, is that there's already been so much flavor lost to the consumer who doesn't have ready access to a garden or a good farmers' market. All too often what one finds is a tasteless lump with the consistency of watermelon and the flavor of styrofoam. I have no immediate bias for or against genetically engineered produce. In fact, it strikes me as being much like the early days of smallpox inoculations. There were some horror stories on the way to refining a technique, the positive results of which I think few would question.
