To all who remember me. I love Rambus and am Long. Do yourselves a favor and check out PTEK. I bought last week and know this baby will rock and roll in the short term that will leave you wondering Rambus hasn't yet. Rambus will ROCK too but not until the shorts and the options boys say its OK. Either way I don't care. I own RMBS and am long so it doesn't matter.
Remember...check out PTEK has HUGE potential. Please excuse me if your upset with this post. Just very excited about a good pick of mine. Good Luck to all!!

pomp,
i have read that amd had design flaws with k7. they may have been resolved. i have read k7 now due in june - dec. originally we heard k7 was using rambus. i have never seen a change on that. at 800m or so it would not make sense for amd to use any other memory.
i asked the amd yahoo thread yesterday for a shipping date...no response...i take that as an i don't know. on the si thread, someone posted they expect a k7 announcement june 10. if that happens, it would be awesome for rmbs.

<do you know if the k7 still is planned to support rdram?>

AMD has said the K7 will support RDRAM. However, RDRAM support depends on the K7 chipset, not the K7 CPU itself. And AMD is relying on third-party support for chipsets, so they probably heard that one or two of those future K7 chipsets will support RDRAM. No one gave a time frame as to when K7 systems with RDRAM will be released. AMD seems content with letting Intel blaze the RDRAM trail.

<release date still june?>

As far as I know, the K7 release date is still set for June. However, AMD will probably announce the release of the K7 on June 30th, but claim that K7 systems may not appear until mid to late July at the earliest, and even then in low quantities. In other words, I think AMD will pull a Clinton and attempt to redefine the meaning of the phrase "release date."
