Breakouts - A nice strategy would be to buy stocks just as they start to run. Question is, how can we do that. One possibility is to look at volume. Consider these stocks, posted on this thread (links are to the post quoted from and to a stock chart):

ABTX (4/29) - was up on strong volume and continued up (a little) that day and for the next 3 days.
>>ABTX - Something might be up. The long awaited buyout? Or just more false hope. Up on heavy volume today. <<

PLCOP (5/11) Stock was around $1.50 when I posted this and ran to $3.75 before falling back
>>PLCOP - this is a BB that I mentioned here in March. I usually do not play BB stocks, but this sounded interesting. Anyway, after going nowhere, the stock, which usually trades around 10,000 shares per day traded 30,000 yesterday (it closed at 0.75) and has doubled today, so far on 65,000 shares.<<

(note, chart looks right, but the dates on the bottom are not. still you can see the pattern)

PARA (5/14) Continued moving from 2 3/8 to over $3 later in the day and the next morning.
>>PARA - this one looks interesting. Currently at 2 3/8...It just moved above its 50 day moving average and volume is up. Yesterday it traded over 100,000 shares for the first time since early March (3/4) and will likely break that number again today. With the low float this could move again like it did in Feb. I like to get into these low priced ones when the volume begins to surge.<<

VCR (5/20) Spotted this just before the volume started. Close to 50% one day gain.
>>VCR - A few minutes ago VCR issued a press release regarding a long playing MP3 device. Stock sitting at 2 3/8.

Conclusions: I think it is possible to find stocks ready to move by keeping an eye on volume jumps as they develop. Can anyone suggest web sites that show volume changes? Could be helpful.

Does anyone else think we should try to get in on these type of plays?
