Two-Thirds of U.K. Shoppers Changed by Web Retail, Times Says
By Chris Collins

London, May 24 (Bloomberg) -- The Internet has changed the
way more than two-thirds of British people shop, with nearly half
of U.K. consumers sampled saying they'd prefer to make purchases
without having to visit shops, the Times of London reported,
citing a survey by Gresham Computing. U.K. Internet sales were
estimated at 230 million pounds ($368.1 million) in 1998 and are
expected to reach 3.1 billion pounds in 2003, the newspaper said.
The survey showed 89 percent of consumers think shopping is
tiresome and 46 percent would actively welcome an Internet
alternative to going out to shop, the newspaper said.

On May 21 Amazon.com Inc., the largest Internet retailer,
filed to raise as much as $2 billion by selling debt, common or
preferred stock or other securities.

SELLER HITTING THE MARKET SOON !
: I was sent an email suggesting that original Firecrest shareholders will only be able to trade 1% of their shares in June 99, and 1% more each month thereafter until June 2000 I think when they will be able to trade fully. The idea is to prevent people panicking if there is an immediate crash.

HOW MANY SHARES FROM ALL THE OTHER COMPANIES THAT DON'T EXIST ?
