In general you have to shut down a system
to mirror it successfully. Maybe you can figure a way around
this. If you do, clue me in.


Are you refering to the open file problem? If so, some of these apps use an open file handler to remedy that. If you mean something else than thats a problem I'm unaware of.

As far as mirroring the two as a pair into D: am I looking at another nitemare as far as management goes?

Nope, not a nightmare. A pipe dream.

Your saying its not possible to copy files off of partitions from two separate drives (one scsi one eide) onto another third drive and run them from there? And boot them from there if the files make up an OS?
