This was taken from a quest products 10Q in April '98.

"a consent order was agreed to with the FTC which settled charges that various advertising claims for the PhaseOut device ("the device") were unsubstantiated or false. The order required the Company to send a postcard to identifiable past purchasers of the device notifying them of the commission's action and advising them that the device has not been proven to reduce the risk of smoking related diseases or make cigarettes "safer". The order also prohibits the Company from making certain claims in its current advertising."

We know from the FTC ruling that Quest Products is prohibited from making many advertising claims concerning PhaseOut unless, at the time it is made, QPRC possess and relies upon competent and reliable scientific evidence that substantiates the representation.

QPRC did comply with the FTC ruling. Marketing of PhaseOut was stopped in the US and mail outs were sent to customers as required. Subsequent SEC filings only state that the FTC ruling has been settled and they have reentered the "domestic" market. Current marketing of PhaseOut that I have seen tout it to be "the Smokers Solution". So I'll ask the completely idiotic question again. Has the company obtained some competent and reliable scientific evidence that the product is effective in helping smokers quit the habit?

I spoke with the company awhile back and was told that at some time in the future the company will do a reverse split.

I did not care to get caught in it when it happens. Liquidated shares purchased subpenny on speculation.

You wont find me posting here again...and dont bother to ask me any questions...I've said all I am going to say.
