Are you implying that a 50 MHz CPU increase coupled with QUADRUPLING the cache size while increasing the cache SPEED by 125% will not do much to reduce a 6 to 8 hour process time ?

You must value your hourly rate at a very low level not to see how fast you can recoup your expenses with a 555 MHz Pentium /// Xeon upgrade - even by cutting 1 or 2 hours from the process runs - assuming they are done on a continual basis.

PS - I assume you meant 1 GByte of memory - since 1 GHz memory is still a little hard to find !
