>>another insult tonight...(this one was the straw that broke the camel's back)<<

I meant no harmin my ribbing to you tonight and if it was taken as such, I apologize whole heartedly, humbly and ask for the steepest punishment.

It was meant to be a tongue in cheek grin type comment based on most of our forecasts having numerous qualifiers that leave some people wondering which side of the fence we are on. Example XYZ is a buy but watch for the bearish chart formation here and the possible crossing below this trend line and the bearishness of this sector and the non-confirmation of this indicator. OK was I bullish on this stock or did I just talk myself out of it. I know I am guilty of this and even though I know what I am trying to say, many others PM me asking what the heck I just said. These qualifiers are of course for the good of those that are considering acting onXYZ so they know what they are getting into.

My comment tonight was not meant to be derogitory but in hindsight I can see how it could have been taken that way and even this one might also be.

Again Sorry, You have put together a great collection of peopl e at the site that has built a quick following and I hope you won't allow this to ruin it.

Good Luck,

Lee

PUT/CALL ratios update.

due to technical problems the update is posted here instead of the MDA web site.

CBOE total: 0,64
individual equities: 0,51
OEX: 1,01
SPX: 1,96
VIX: 25,36
PVI(CBOE): 1,41
PVI(OEX): 1,56

individual equities call vol.: 639,865(+27,380) put vol.: 327,176(+133,490)
OEX call vol.: 112,301(+39,934) put vol.: 113,829(+33,039)
SPX call vol.: 22,617(-53,685) put vol.: 44,293(-31,522)
OEX open interest: calls: 235,343(-6,008) puts: 296,280(+2,493)

a surprising improvement in the ind.equ. ratio took place on friday, as may puts were rolled forward. still, considering that may expiration saw a lot of unwinding of dividend capture strategies (where shares are bought and deep-in-the-money calls sold concurrently), which accounted for quite a bit of call volume, the ratio is somewhat reassuring. unfortunately the OEX ratio stayed anemic, although some of the call volume can be attributed to liquidations. the VIX has eased along with the collapse in may premiums, so we'll have to wait for today's reading to get the true picture. PVI, though still neutral, is leaning to the bullish side. overall the options data have lost some of their recent bearishness, but once again, we'll have to wait and see how things develop now that expiration-related strategies are out of the market. one day hardly establishes a trend, and the first week of trading with june as the front month will tell us more about the market's likely direction.

regards,

hb

LG,

I hope the balance looks different to you soon - MDA is
my home base and has taught me so much I'd hate to see
it lapse. I really appreciate all the hard work that
goes into it.

My best and my thanks,

Dave

LG .... now .... you know that despite the hassle it wouldn't be as much fun if you didn't continue being part of the MDA extended family !!!. Most of what I see here is nothing more than 'lovers tiffs' ...(okay .. I'm sensitive too ... its all part of the genius persona - hey ... stop laughing ... I'm easily hurt !!). As long as its all done publicly then as grown ups we should be able to resolve any differences. If there are derogatory private messages then I believe they should be posted to the thread by whoever recieves them so that the regulars can respond to the attacker ......

As for the site .... personally I would never have the time to do as much .... and the contributions are exceptional. But if its too much hassle then take a break or don't do it..... but please don't abandon the MDA thread.

Besides .... you'd never get to use that bloomin soap box on me....

Best regards

Stephen
