Perhaps, it wasn't just luck.

Perhaps the insiders really do know that their fundamentals weren't permanently changed just because some Nobel Prize winners strayed from their expertise in a highly leveraged way (and were also being copied by major investment bankers) and came close to introducing a financial crisis into the system.

...and how some company's were having their head handed to them since their calls were worthless and the puts were in the money. Lucky for them, the market recovered rapidly.
