Depends on the application. For those that will put IA64 into competition with Sun and IBM, like server farms, data warehousing, ERP, SAP, etc., I'd put it into an extra Merced or two, when the time comes. Where a dual or quad x86 would do, since all infrastructure is in place for them, sure, buy those. What's the point?
