This number is NOT individual investors. It is comprised of the number of brokers holding shares for individual investors. Each of those 243 brokers may be holding shares for thousands of individuals.

1. what happens to the money that is generated by the insider sales, does the 90+ million go into their pockets or the company coffers.

It's their stock, so when they sell it, it is their money. But realize that insiders (as a group) are not "unloading" stock in this deal. Rather, it's being transferred from one set of insiders to another. The company, on the other hand, gets the money from the sale of preferred stock.
