...Ellison has said that his company will "kill" Siebel and Ariba the way it "killed" Sybase, Informix and Peoplesoft...

Yap, Yap, Yap. Ellison is one of those little yappy dogs that you want to drop-kick into your neighbor's yard.

Once Ellison proves that he can successfully develop a world-class business software practice in any market, then I'll start paying attention to him. Given its customer base, it's pathetic that Oracle continues to eek out single-digit growth in ERP.

Yap, Yap, Yap, Yap....

The mouth of the West (Ellison) is attacking what he fears. The fact is that Oracle has seen it's best days, under attack in the database field and failing at it's attempts to diversify. Unlike the 1980's, computers are common and customers aren't afraid to try the smaller company if the product and support are better. It's going to take more than a big mouth to counter Siebel.
