Metricom is an interesting service. They put antennae on telephone polls to create small cells to transmit data to computers. You can roam with your laptop. Coverage is pretty good in the Bay Area and cost is very reasonable, but this is not a voice service. Perhaps it looks very interesting, but this is not a wireless phone company. They are an ISP with their own wireless infrastructure. What develops out of this could be interesting, but I don't see a direct connection to a Portico like product. Regards, Mark
