It's a legitimate Ponzi scheme. (How's that for waffling on the issue?) Regardless, you are looking at a financial house of cards. As I pointed out earlier, AMZN depends on two things to support its cash flow: differential timing in the receipt of cash for sales and payment for goods, and sale of stock. What they are doing is trying to force the price of the stock high enough to trigger conversion. This, in effect, is the sale of stock to raise cash.

The big question remains: how will they deal with the eventuality of a significant slow down in growth or flat sales? I think this company is the next Boston Chicken.
