ATHM - content vs. # of subs

This news release about gourmetmarket.com & athm is one
reason I don't like ATHM management/stock. They are focused on
becoming an AOL - full of content that is ignored by many.

I subscribe to ATHM service, and NEVER click the "@Home" icon
to bring up their special browser-like application (full of
their own content) - I just use Netscape directly, like I
did before I had ATHM service - except now it's faster.
Still brings up my.yahoo as my home page, etc.

One of the recent news stories on the potential dumping
of "TJ" as CEO listed this as one reason for dumping him
(that he is focusing on new content vs. expanding the number
of subscribers).

Seems those criticisms are correct. I enjoy gourmet cooking,
but will not even look at this new content - I find all the
recipes I need, etc on the internet already - I don't need
anyone to aggregate it and hold my hand while I look at it,
and the trend is that more and more internet users will
feel the same (since they will become more & more proficient
and comfortable using search engines, etc).

Just some thoughts... (I have no position in ATHM, though
I owned it from $22.125 to $90).
