CDMA has 75% of the RF output of GSM/TDMA (if memory serves) And analog? Not sure. EOM

WM - Why is CDMA 'safer'?

It puts out substantially less RF power (at the edge of a cell, where the most power is used, it probably puts out less than 40% of the RF power of a TDMA system.).

PS Note that CDMAOne perforce uses a less efficient power amp, so not all of that savings shows up at the battery.
