Mark,

<<Did you request the IBM or the Fujitsu drive? >>
Nope.
<<Or did Dell just send you one? >>

They sent a messenger who picked up my laptop and took it away. It was delivered back the next day with the new drive. Fortunately it had not been a catastrophic failure and I was able to limp out a completely up-to-date back up. One gripe I had was that the anti-virus software that came embedded with the system (no CD) was not reinstalled. They claimed they were not responsible to reinstall software. This is still under appeal with Dell but they have been slow to respond.

<<Kinda depressing to me that they are using IBM and Fujitsu>>
Look around kiddo. Not that many 2.5 inch suppliers. Just enough to make it tough to make a profit. <G>

Best,
Stitch
