SFE has always held that IPOs benefit its shareholders most via the added NAV, not just the RO/SRO part. But given that SFE is trading at such a multiple of NAV, it's hard to imagine NAV doing as much good as it has in the past. That said, IPOs are still beneficial and I think some have lost sight of this. In theory, If SFE brought all co's public, the NAV would catch up with stock price and the value of the stock would have a floor. Then the new pipeline would represent any premium. Since that will never happen, I think the prevailing factor is something michael p said, -- that imagining the future is sometimes better than the future itself.

I am surprised at today's and Friday's action in SFE, as I thought we would see some meaningful upswing after the IPO announcements.

michael had some interesting comments this a.m. which leave me worried short term. That said, I still feel the ICGE IPO merits some sort of strength, whether this is a run up or a floor under the stock who knows. We'll see when the dates are announced and it goes "ex dividend"

FWIW, I think the inutz malaise and the labor day doldrums are doing more to dictate current direction than any company specific factors. It's not SFE, it's the market direction.
