Hey all, got a chuckle out of that latex fingerprint thing and had to comment,

Can you imagine anyone letting someone make a latex mold of their fingerprint? And then for someone to use the fingerprint to beat a cell phone charge? I guess it could happen, but it would have to be a family member or close friend and probably not to hard to catch. No chance of someone making a latex print by overhearing your print! Also no chance of someone making a latex print of an intercepted print, which really isn't a print, over the internet. It's important to remember that fingerprint security is far and above the vast majority of fire-walls.

Brad and all,

Have something to say about National Security? Say, er, ah, something about ummmm... biometrics...

NEW OPEN FORUM FOR NATIONAL SECURITY STUDY GROUP

The Department of Defense today launched "America's Future Forum," a new debate forum posted on the National Security Study Group's Internet web site at nssg.gov.

The NSSG web site is unique in that this is the first time a government-sponsored study has maintained a permanent direct connection with the American public during its drafting process.

Also something that I wasn't a thinkin' about is how Compaq was to fit into the portable laptop for police cars... Panasonic and Toshiba are there... Wonder if IDT plays THE part of that picture. If not, then who...
