It looks like the bulls are attempting a counter-attack. Small trades only.

Jim -
You are shirking the points I made and in addition you are raising bogus issues
I think I am addressing your points and the issues I raise are the same as I have been discussing on this thread for a long time.

First your predictions were seriously more inaccurate than mine
Let's see - 4Q98 you predicted CPQ earnings of .20 and I predicted .38 - they came in at .43 so I would say I was closer than you on that prediction. 1Q99 you predicted .33 and I predicted .31 - earnings came in at .16 - we were both pretty far off but you were clearly more inaccurate... What predictions were you referring to?

why is it that as long as CPQ is number one in PC unit marketshare, it is important and as soon as DELL becomes number 1 it is no longer an important issue?

I have consistently said that DELL will capture #1 in US desktops - have been on record on this point for more than a year. They have not yet gotten there but may do so within this year. My position on the trend, and also the limited value of this market crown, has been very consistent. It has never been an important issue. Packard-Bell had the crown for many years - how much good did it do them?

By the way how fast do you think DELL needs to grow in the enterprise sector? They grew 97% last year and they may well grow more than 100% this year
DELL needs to increase enterprise revenue at close to 100% for at least the next few years if they are to use enterprise sales and margins to defray declines in PC margins and ASP.
