Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't AGP have to transfer the data to the card before it can be drawn too? The way I see it there are two options:

AGP texturing: Main memory => Video Framebuffer
Non-AGP: Main memory => Video Card Texture Memory => Framebuffer

Since Voodoo3 uses a unified memory architecture, the framebuffer and the texture memory are the same. Why can't the drivers just transfer the texture directly to the framebuffer area? What am I missing?
