Eric spoke on Bondi inventory

Yes, that's the post I was replying to.

It just seems to me that Apple has been too good in other cases at clearing out old inventory before bringing in the new lineup (e.g. with B&W G3s and PowerBooks), that the high number of Bondi iMacs in the channel must be a deliberate but unadvertised policy.

The Bondi iMacs are still outselling the fruit iMacs months after they were supposedly end-of-lifed. This would seem to indicate that they are still being produced in large numbers and not just old sales left in the channel.

I don't know enough about actual channel volumes and serial numbers to back up my case. It's just a hunch.
