Rose, I am both saddened by your departure and honored by your kind words. Somehow, I expected you'd be here with me at the last minute this year either feeling foolish sitting at the computer when the lights stayed on or feeling strangely vindicated and simultaneously really scared as everything slid into the blackness of Y2Chaos. I am sure you have given your move a great deal of thought. I just hope that it goes relatively smoothly, and that it is being triggered by Y2K and not a health problem. Seems like you are leaving the grid a little early. Your uncommon intelligence, although a challenge to many, has always been a source of thought provoking essays curiously juxtaposed with amusing body slams: a great source of entertainment. William and Ole49r: Nonsense. Utter blather. I have never stumbled across such paranoid muttering from paranoid people. Both of you should take a hard look at the money already spent to address Y2K remediation. I AM on Wall Street and when you guys run, I'll be the first to take your scared money. There will be glitches here and there, but rest assured the white elephants on WS aren't just going to sit around on their bumpkins and let their billions evaporate. Best of luck, though ... Scrumpy
