Yes...but the streaming works very poorly - even on a decent connection! And the sound quality is crappy.

I'm not sure what you are referring to. You are comparing apples and oranges.

MP3 is an encoding format for audio ... it has nothing to do with streaming. But it *can* be streamed, just like any other encoded media.

Please visit shoutcast.com to see that MP3 is indeed being streamed on the Internet. Currently, SHOUTcast is doing the streaming over an HTTP connection, where Real and QT have decided to stream MP3 using RTSP/RTP ... something that is out there in IETF drafts.

I stream MP3s all day and all night ...
