I think the 3 combined had less than 50 gun related murders last year. A: DJB - I don't know the answer to this. Maybe we should find out the answer to this question before we spout all this rhetoric....and that my friend comes from a Republican! Maybe it has something to do with the teenage suicide rate in Japan being 25 times higher than the USA. Do you want that? The three countries are very different cultures from America which took hundreds of years form. BTW, in England the police can search your house and seize a handgun without a warrant. Where do you think the 2nd amendment came from anyway? Our country's founding fathers came from England. It's funny, Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin and Alexander Hamilton just aren't as smart as Rosie O'Donnall and Barbara Streisand. I've never owned a gun and I don't plan to. However, I have lived in some places (New Orleans) where the crime was so bad I left the state instead of buying a gun for protection. While I'm in favor of gun locks and background checks on all gun sales, I have no illusions about this stopping mentally ill people. The reason why the teenagers do the horrible acts is because they are mentally ill teenagers. About 12% of all teenagers have some level of mentally illness according to experts. A small percent are very ill. A gun lock or a background check will not make a person mental stable. We need to identify what we can do to help these children before they commit these horrible crimes. Others are interested in political agendas.
