Tom,
Another similarity between CUST and ZITL is the secret nature of their work. There were a whole lot of rationalizations for why Matridigm couldn't disclose information about their silver bullet code, which I am reminded of when reading about CUST's secretive software development process. About the only thing that was disclosed about either product was the end result.

Today's press release values CUST as if it will get VRSN's current market penetration in the digital security space. I'm not sure how VRSN is currently valued, but my guess is that its value includes a lot of growth in its market share. And VRSN gets the first-mover advantage. No mention in the release about how CUST's technology compares to VRSN's, or even more importantly, how CUST will market its technology to compete with VRSN. Microsoft proved that it's not the best technology, but the best combination of technology and marketing that's important.

Regards,
Craig
