Mani,

I was not aware of the "Viper" name but my understanding is 400 MHz bus, 8MHz L2 and other significant enhancements on the memory side (where the true performance bottlenecks are). From what I gather this is one hell of a screamer. But, given the past history, I will withhold my judgement.

I have heard the Viper is the K7 version of XEON.

Just vaporware at the moment. Perhaps Q1 of 2000.
