Kap,

It seems that the old versions of K7 had a PII-like (Slot 1) appearance, while the more recent ones, like CeBIT 99 had a PPGA-like look.

That's interesting. I was under the impression that all K7's came in slotted packages, which contain the L2 cache and support the high frequency bus. Where did you get this information from?

Kapkan4u - <It seems that the old versions of K7 had a PII-like (Slot 1) appearance, while the more recent ones, like CeBIT 99 had a PPGA-like look. If so, wouldn't this indicate the use of a REALLY old version of K7 in Firing Squad benchmarks?>

Actually, you have it backwards. Early versions of the K7 I saw looked like PPGA, while later versions were Slot"A". K7 will most certainly be a cartridge.
