Many energy stocks are quite fairly valued given current oil prices. For instance, oil drilling stocks tend to have a forward PE for 2000 of about 20, pretty fair value given the uncertainty over future oil prices. And many independent oil producers have very high PEs, representing future leverage to the price of oil given that they're hovering around breakeven levels.
