Macromedia and @Home Network Forge Web
Entertainment and Advertising Alliance

Companies Join Forces to Launch shockwave.com Entertainment Center and Boost Penetration
of Enliven Rich-Media Advertising

SAN FRANCISCO, May 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Macromedia, Inc. (Nasdaq: MACR - news) and @Home Network (Nasdaq:
ATHM - news) today announced a multi-faceted alliance that includes a joint effort to provide consumers with a
personalized and compelling Web entertainment experience, and a broad initiative to increase the adoption of rich-media
Web advertising. Under the terms of the agreement, @Home's Enliven technology will be integrated into Macromedia's
Flash and Shockwave players to create the industry-standard delivery mechanism for rich-media advertisements. In
addition, the companies will allow @Home subscribers to quickly and easily access shockwave.com, Macromedia's new
Web entertainment center announced Monday.

Macromedia's shockwave.com entertainment center, comprised of a personalized site and two innovative technology
devices, will launch early this summer and will share Internet traffic with @Home Network properties. shockwave.com
provides a mix of original cartoons, comics, music and games, popular branded material from movies and television, and
user-created content -- all of which @Home subscribers can share with friends. shockwave.com will particularly benefit
from @Home Network's broadband capabilities by speeding delivery of rich-media content.

''@Home shares our passion for entertainment and rich media on the Web,'' said Rob Burgess, chairman and CEO of
Macromedia. ''This alliance extends the reach of shockwave.com and further establishes Macromedia Shockwave and
Flash, along with @Home's Enliven, as the key enablers of rich-media Web advertising.''

''When it comes to Web entertainment and advertising, Macromedia and @Home share a remarkably similar vision,'' said
Tom Jermoluk, chairman, president and CEO of @Home Network. ''The same Flash and Shockwave capabilities that will
make shockwave.com a premiere entertainment center will be integrated with @Home's Enliven technology to enable
Web-based advertising to be interactive, personal and highly effective.''

By integrating Macromedia's Flash and Shockwave players with Enliven technology, the two companies will significantly
broaden the consumer reach of Enliven's unique multimedia ad delivery and tracking capabilities, and will expand the
audience for multimedia Web advertising. Already a preferred platform for creating ad content for Enliven, Macromedia's
Web Publishing product line includes: Director, the industry standard for creating powerful multimedia content; Flash,
which allows designers to create and deliver compact, fast and beautiful vector-based graphics and animation for the
Web; and Dreamweaver, the award-winning professional Web authoring environment.
