Your Yahoo enthusiasm may be misplaced

YHOO&DCLK are already worried that as more consumers
gain access to the net faster than a 56k modem,
the effectiveness of Banner delivered advertising
will diminish. That will bring us back to the
good old commercial spot type advertising, or the
imbedding products into content like the Coke can
on the table in a soup opera, or the streaming and
fixed advertising zones you see on a Bloomberg TV
station screen. By the time the net matures into
this vision of yours, DTV and HTDV sets will become
a move viable consumer product that combined with a
smart cableTV or Satellite box will in essence offer
all the features you invision some Yahoo/Embassey
chip based system can, in a package better suited and
marketed for consumer consumption. I think it may be
time for you to re-evaluate your vision for HAUP/WAVX/YHOO.

If we were here discussing the potential impact of
a June launch of High-DTV cards on HAUP's bottom line,
I would be a fool to short, as even I would be running
out to CompUSA to get the first one in stock, just to
watch Jay Lenno on a 16x9 aspect ratio screen. But that
is NOT what is happening here, and even if/when HAUP does
their HDTV card, access to NovaLogic chips by other card
makers will make any HAUP product just another commodity.
