here are a couple of clues look at their web site and their 'infrastructure' sale check out the VC's that support them check out the 'average' cost of a sale check out the 'services' component needed for installation look at the integration cost (see their website diagram) per installation finally, consider this... ERP companies like Oracle, SAP, Baan, JDE, etc...became successful by developing 'core' systems for corporations and by adding more modules so that companies had a difficult time either building their own or adding 'best of breed' Using this approach the sales/service components were maximized and adding Ecommerce/EDI sales propogated like a virus to trading partners that could afford the systems. Corporate control of data shifted from PC to Data Centre, again. Now www is the watchword (stale now, I'm afraid) so VC's get a bunch of MBA's to come up with the concept of 'yanking' control from the corporate data centre to the www applications...why?...profit :) So they take the best 'model' ...SAP...and build a huge 'thing' based around marketing/sales orientation and www that will backward propogate and be 'critical' to the enterprise. Naturally the enterprise will go out and spend a fortune because they are now familiar with the concept of spending millions to install SAP et al...and it will be easy to spend the money on a system to increase sales on the www rather than by cutting costs 'HEY' said the MBA's, 'we will make a fortune on the revenue side'. So once this 'trojan' horse is installed then services can backward propogate to the core systems, profits would increase indefinately. The tail would wag the ERP dog and the Call Centre?...that would be history as the www applications would control that too. BVSN would be the tool for worldwide corporate domination and the MBA's with their white boards would have songs written in their honour. Please. This is my opinion only and written very quickly without the MBA approved methodology of adding proof after proof of why it is so Money may be made here, but not by holding, imo ynot :)
