GSM 450, actually isn't out yet. Surprisingly NMT sales continue in certain regions. Going digital makes sense. The 450 Mhz spectrum is available in many countries and being GSM based will mean easy multi- band phones for some. However, it may be used or reserved for professional situations, such as railways and other utilities (competing with analog PMR or digital TETRA).

My tuppence worth...but I will talk to an editor (good friend of mine) of a well respected international mobile magazine who recently called me about GSM 450, ETSI decisions. he's probably done more research than me by now...unfortunately he is having a holiday in the US to see the new Star Wars film this week!!
