I like to look at "Barriers to entry" for a new business. Circuit City already has Car BoomBoom installation business and there are all sorts of telecom places near me that will sell you beepers, wireless phones, etc. It would seem these little shops would all offer bandwidth and might be better able to serve a local market than a regional company like Tandy.

To be honest, retail as an investment scares the daylights out of me.... I have my own ideas about where it is heading and how to invest in it. I do like the idea of Tandy/RadioShack turning into one of those local wireless stores where they also offer tons of high margin stuff to pad the bottom line.
