I have trouble cancelling as well as confirming orders. I put in
a limit order and the order status window did not show any buys for
several hours! Also, Ameritrade has passed the buck in responsibility.
There is no paper confirmation of trades. Limit orders are much
more expensive about 25% more than others. I have used Daytek in
the past and that is who I am going to use in the future.
In short Ameritrade SUCKS! They have cost me money and they are going
to be fired!

Tom

I cancelled an order last night and then called to assure that the cancellation was noted as they suggest you do.

The person I spoke with said they would have to await confirmation from the market maker before confirming cancellation.

What this seems to mean is that the order was already in the market makers hands and MM had to agree to cancel. Perhaps not.
