Oh yeah etys will lose money, nonetheless a top tier offering that came out right as the bubble was popping. As a recent IPO its a low float situation so it looks like a weak summer and then into the fall a blow out xmas for them just like amzn last year. Theres not enough time for toys r us or zany brainy to get going on the web. Next year, a different story entirely.

BTW I see gnet and inkt as the most speculative in the bunch over etoys, dclk and of course real (which looks like a gorilla maybe). gnet is flaky because its a portal and those are so iffy, no one even knows how to value portals anymore. Everybody is a portal really. To be honest if I were running a portal I would focus on a very specialized niche at this point since yahoo and maybe one other player have the general portals locked up. I don't know if gnet is doing that. I'm pretty sure they can't compete with even cnet unless they latch on to the Allen broadband offerings, which they may do but we haven't heard anything about that. Lets say there were no Paul Allen then gnet would be slighly above ivillage (who btw is not in the worst position by any means). I don't know thats my take on it now.

Inkt... I have to look into this one again. Last I saw it was too much like a software company and that is problematic... not sticky... msft could knock them off and that would be the end. I prefer content, of course msft is really crippled now so who knows. If they break out the inet division at msft they would be mighty I suspect.
